Allow your child to use their fingers to eat if they like to do that.
Always offer the food that you eat through this time as he/she will begin good eating habits here.
Depending on the teeth your child has, they will either need meals liquidised or cut up very small.

If you do be careful not to get stressed about this as your little one will have very little control and you will need to be putting them on the potty throughout the day.
It is great though for your little one to be able to move around without a nappy on at some point during the day.
BEDTIME.
Sometime during this period your toddler may want to go to one nap during the day although this will probably be around 2 to 21/2 hours.
At night your child will still need around 10 to 11 hours a night.
You may find your little one resisting naps and bedtime during this period, the key is to be consistent around bedtime.
Have a routine that quietens everything down during the hour before bedtime.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
This is an important development milestone as your toddler may be stringing together sounds now. It will sound like talking now.
You will notice that he/she will begin to point or even use their whole bodies to get something along with the sounds they are making.
They may become very frustrated if you don't understand what they want.
There is nothing more precious than hearing "momma" or "dada" for the first time.
At 12 months your toddler may be able to say an individual word such as "no" words that you may hear a lot in the next months.
By 18 months they may be stringing two words together i.e. "mummy up" or "want drink"
Your child may enjoy copying unusual noises and animal sounds.
The age at which toddlers start to speak varies quite considerably, if you are concerned then always seek advice from your health visitor.
