Finger Foods for Toddlers - Toddler Food

Easy tasty finger foods for toddlers, includes toddler finger food recipes and healthy food for toddlers. Check out these healthy finger foods. Remember never to leave yout toddler unattended with toddler food. Toddlers can easily choke on foods so make sure food that you offer is cut into small pieces and are easily chewable.

Offer new foods a little at a time and always with accepted foods. Have your toddler sat at the table with you in a highchair or toddler chair. that way they learn to be sociable and you can offer them some of your food. Your toddler nay not want to sit for long so once they have finished eating let them leave the table and go and play. Make sure meal times are a pleasure and not a battle ground.

Finger foods for toddlers are ideal for taking on journeys or when you are out and about. Just take wipes to do clean ups and you are all set. Finger foods also make iseal snacks for toddlers.

Finger Foods for toddlers- Healthy Food for Toddlers

  • 1. Try toast soldiers, always a favorite. These toast fingers can be spread with marmite, cream cheese, jam, or dipped in cooled boiled egg yolk.


  • 2. Cooked and cooled pasta shapes such as penne can be served with a sauce or grated cheese.


  • 3. Vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, corn, green beans, cauliflour, peas, sweet potatoes can be boiled or steamed then cooled and served.


  • 4.Soft fruits such as banana and ripe pears can be cut up and given in small pieces. Grapes, strawberries,
  • kiwi peaches apples etc can all be given if peeled and cut into small pieces to avoid your toddler choking.
  • Tinned fruit in fruit juiceis also good as it is usually soft fruit, cut it up if needed.


  • 5. An omelette which has been cut up is great too, you could add cheese and tomatoes cut up into tiny pieces and even peas.


  • 6.Small finger sandwhiches of cream chese, mashed banana, mashed up hard boiled egg with mayonnaise, jam, or vegemite for example.


  • 7.Small slices of pizza.


  • 8. Grilled cheese on toast cut up into fingers.


  • 9.Multi grain cheerios are great.


  • 10. Rice cakes spread with cream cheese


  • 11.Graham crackers spread with hummus or cream cheese or peanut butter if your toddler is not allergic to this.


  • 12. Cooked lamb, beef, chicken and turkey are all fine if they are chopped up into small pieces and are not too chewy.


  • 13. Deli ham, chicken, turkey, corned beef can also be given in small pieces.


  • 14. Raviolipasta parcels stuffed with cheese, veg, chicken or beef


  • 15. Mini muffinsgreat but very messy


  • 16.Fish fingers or vegetable fingers cooked and cooled before serving
