So it's time for your babies very first birthday party
Food for babies birthday party:
Savoury
- Cubes of cheese.
- Carrot sticks.
- Ham, spread cheese or grated cheese sandwiches(cut with shaped pastry cutters for interest)
- Cucumber and pepper sticks
- Cheesy wotsits or quavers
- French fries
- You could try small bowls of pasta with a choice of toppings.
- Cheese straws
Sweet foods
- Grapes and or strawberries cut into halves or quarters.
- Watermelon and or pineapple cut into small pieces.
- Homemade fruit juice popsicles
- Angel delight
- Ice cream
- Yoghurts
- Small cookies
And of course birthday cake. Supermarkets now sell a wide range of themed birthday cakes for babies first birthday party.
You could make your own, how about making cupcakes instead of a single cake.
They look great decorated and laid out on a plate or tray and you won't need to cut a cake.
You could even try making your cake mixture and pouring it into petit fours cases to make baby sized birthday cake.
Don't forget to check about allergies with your guests. To be safe stay away from anything containing peanuts.
Party Games and activities
- Put out plenty of free play toys for your young guests.
- You could play a nursery rhyme song cd and sing along with the other guests.
- Sit the babies on the floor and roll a large ball gently to each young guest.
- It is worth hiring a ball pool and if you like some other soft play equipment.
- If you can, get some large cardboard boxes to make tunnels to crawl through.
Why not provide some finger paints and do some hand prints of all your young guests.
Do a sheet for each child, put the date on, the parents could then take these home and laminate them as a keepsake.
Party favors
Party favors are a way of saying thank you for your babies gifts.
Just beware of costs as party favors can become very expensive if we are not careful.
Here are some ideas for favors for babies first birthday party:
- Board books
- Blowing bubbles
- Bath toys
- Colorful balls
- Digital Photograph taken during the party as a keepsake.
- Small soft toy.
- Large crayons
- Plastic sunglasses are fun and will make a great photo.
