Easy, fun home activities for toddlers, great fun activities for toddlers that will help you fill your time. This article contains toddler learning activities and free toddler activities.

Toddlers activities needn't be difficult nor expensive.



These are some great ways to spend time with your toddler, the great thing is they learn at the same time.

  • Hint: For messy activities why not use an old childrens paddling pool. Blow up the rings but do not fill with water.
  • A childs small desk and chair will fit into this or your toddler can simply sit in it to do messy activities.
  • This is a really great way to contain messy games as the pool can be taken outside and shaken out or washed down afterward.
  • Treasure hunt.
  • This one of a number of fun activities for toddlers that you will find on this website.
  • Fist take a large piece of paper or use cardboard from a cereal box. My husband used the back of a rug in our home.
  • Draw some large colored shapes onto the rug, paper or cardboard, well spaced out.
  • Draw a circle, square, rectangle, triangle and then do this in different colors.
  • You will end up with a square in green, yellow, red, blue etc or colors of your choosing.
  • Do this with the other shapes.
  • Next take a sheet of paper or cardboard and draw some matching shapes including the colors.
  • Hide these paper shapes around the house, don't make it too difficult.
  • Let your toddler look at the shapes on the rug, paper or cardboard then send them to find the hidden shapes.
  • Hep your toddler to match the shapes that he has found to the ones on the rug paper or cardboard.
  • This is one of a number of toddler learning activities for your little one.
  • Art Activities for Toddlers.
  • This will be messy so be warned!!
  • Use an old shirt of yours or dads to protect your little ones clothes.
  • Put down lots of paper on and under the surface you will be using.
  • Plastic sheeting is great for the floor as it is reusable and can be wiped clean.
  • Stencilling activities:
  • You will need:
  • natural sponge
  • potato halves and then a shape cut into the cut section.
  • leaves
  • carrot; just a piece big enough for your toddler to hold on end
  • toilet roll cardboard middle, use ends dipped in paint for circles
  • foil crumpled up; make sure to leave no sharp edges
  • pastry cutters
  • Use saucers of tempura or watercolor paint.
  • Show your toddler how to hold the different objects and dip them into the paint then place onto a large sheet of paper to make patterns.

  • Bubbles
  • All you need are cheap bottles of bubbles for kids.
  • You blow the bubbles (toddler do not have the coordination to do this.)
  • Let your toddlers run around trying to catch the bubbles.
  • Tents
  • Set up a tent by throwing a sheet over 4 chairs to make a tent.
  • Our toddlers loved taking dolls, teddies and books into the tent.
  • Add pillows and a blanket for nice cosy set up.

  • Tea Parties
  • Purchase a plastic tea set for your toddler.
  • Your toddler can play with dolls or teddies and have pretend tea parties with water.
  • alternatively have a real tea party with you toddler and use make very milky tea or use fruit juice.
  • Put out biscuits and have a lovely time.
  • Decorate biscuits or fairy cakes
  • Purchase icing pens and various cake decotaring bits such as hundreds and thousands.
  • Let your toddler ice and decorate either home made or purchased biscuits or cakes.
  • Your toddler will love this and can then eat one as a snack or take them as a gift to grannies.
