Ideas for topics.
- There are several different ways to do lapbooks. You can create mini books on a particular topic then put them altogether to make one book.
- Or you can create one big book and make each page a set of little books.
- Or just create a simple folder.
As far as topics go here are some ideas:
- All about chocolate.
- A transportation theme could be great. (for this one why not try mini books such as wheels, construction vehicles, passenger vehicles, road safety etc.)
- Shapes
- Apples, this could include apple types, counting games, shapes and colors as well as an apple story or poem, try our preschool theme.
- The seasons
- Our bodies, this could include a set of mini books on smell, taste, sight, hearing and touch.
If you have a child who is really focussed on one favorite toy such as Thomas the Tank Engine; do a lapbook around this, perhaps collecting pictures, counting trains, train colors, sounds, the different words you might hear on a train and at a station etc.
