Safety Tips For Buying And Using A Toddler bed Rail

home to Toddler Bed Rails

Bed rails are really an essential buy when you are transitioning your toddler to a grown up bed, they help to keep your toddler from rolling out of bed whilst they are asleep. There are several types of bed rail that you can purchase, including fold up rails for travelling.

They provide safety of mind because you know your child cannot roll out of their bed and hurt themselves. All four of our children have used toddler bed rails, we have found them to be a real help in keeping our toddlers feeling secure at night.

Actually, our ten year old autistic daughter still occasionally uses hers if she is feeling insecure.

Toddler Bed Rail Safety Points:

  • Use the bed safety rail instructions given by the manufacturer: the age range, the type of bed bed the rail is designed for.
  • Ensure the bed rail you buy meets the new ASTM safety standards.
  • Make sure the frame is rigid and the mesh strong as your toddler will no doubt put strain on it.
  • Your toddler should be able to get in and out of bed without climbing over the bed rail

I think that one of the best bed rails is Dex Products Universal Safe Sleeper Bed Rail This bed rail meets the new ASTM safety standards.

These Magic Bumpers Child Bed Rail 48 Inch are great. They fit under a fitted sheet so there is no gap to worry about. There is no assembly to do and they are easy to travel with as they weigh only 1 lb each.

This Summer Infant Sure and Secure Double Bedrail are great as they fold down to allow easy changing of sheets. They are also adjustable, so can be used on different beds - ideal if you are going away for a night or two.

For convertible cribs try this Kidco Convertible Crib Bed Rail It is a strong mesh and steel design and is very easily installed.

Grab your toddlers and share some quality time together.
